This systematic literature review aimed to analyze the importance of research as a transversal axis in the training of technologists, identifying its benefits, challenges, and opportunities. To achieve this objective, a rigorous methodology was employed, which included the search and selection of scientific articles, case studies, and technical reports from various databases, using relevant keywords and specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. Among the main findings, it is highlighted that research provides numerous benefits to the training of technologists, such as the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills, the promotion of creativity and innovation, the improvement of communication and teamwork abilities, and enhanced employability and professional development. In conclusion, this systematic review reaffirms the importance of research as a transversal axis in the training of technologists and offers concrete recommendations to improve its integration into the curriculum. The need to strengthen collaboration among technological institutes, universities, and companies is emphasized, as well as the promotion of a research-oriented culture within educational institutions.
