Ethical statement and good practices

The editorial team of Revista Transdisciplinaria de Estudios Sociales y Tecnológicos is committed to the scientific community in guaranteeing the ethics and quality of the published articles, based on the code of conduct and good practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) defines for editors of scientific journals.

Commitments of the authors

• Originality and plagiarism: authors who submit manuscripts to the Journal must guarantee that the work is original and that it does not contain, in whole or in part, content from other authors.

• Multiple and/or repetitive publications: the author may not publish articles, in more than one scientific journal, where the same results are shown.

• List of sources: the author must correctly cite the sources and contributions mentioned in the article.

• Authorship: authors must ensure the inclusion of those people who have made a contribution to the work. It is also necessary that the authors be ranked according to their level of responsibility.

• Access and retention: the authors of the articles must make available to the editors, if necessary, the sources or data used in the research, which can be kept for a period of time and made accessible.

• Conflict of interest and disclosure: all authors are required to declare that there are no conflicts of interest that may have influenced the results obtained. The authors must also indicate any funding for the development of the research.

• Errors in published articles: when an author identifies an error or inaccuracy in his article, he must immediately inform the editors of the journal and provide them with all the necessary information for corrections.

• Responsibility: all authors must accept responsibility for what has been written and that they have carried out a review of the most important scientific literature on the topic analyzed.

Reviewer Commitments

• Contribution to the editorial decision: the reviewers assume the commitment to carry out a critical and constructive analysis of the scientific quality of the contribution, in the field of their knowledge and skills.

• Respect for time: the reviewer who does not feel competent in the topic addressed by the article that has been sent to him or who cannot finish the evaluation in the scheduled time must immediately notify the editors.

• Confidentiality: each assigned manuscript must be considered confidential. Therefore, these texts should not be discussed with other people without the express consent of the editors. In this way, it will only be analyzed, from the Open Peer Review, by the assigned reviewers and by the authors.

Publisher Commitments

• Publication decision: the editors will guarantee the selection of the most qualified reviewers to issue a critical appreciation of the papers, with the least possible biases. The journal chooses to select between 2 and 3 reviewers for each paper in order to guarantee greater objectivity in the review process; it also implements the Open Peer Review method, to comply with the philosophy of the Open Science movement.

• Honesty: the editors evaluate the articles submitted for publication on the basis of scientific merit. Without discrimination of race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnic origin, nationality and the political opinion of the authors.

• Confidentiality: the editors and the members of the working group undertake not to divulge the information of the articles submitted for publication to other people, who are not authors, reviewers and editors. The editors and the Editorial Committee agree to the confidentiality of the manuscripts, their authors and reviewers.

• Conflict of interest and disclosure: the editors undertake not to use the content of the articles submitted for publication without the consent of the authors.

• Respect for time: editors are responsible for complying with the time established for revisions and the publication of accepted papers, to ensure rapid dissemination of their results. Likewise, the works will not remain accepted without being published on hold beyond the fair time for their publication.
